Tree Surgery
We carry out all forms of tree surgery work and can advise on what might suit your trees the best. Below is a list of the more common operations:
-
Target pruning: Where a specific limb or area of the tree is pruned back due to damage or interference with a building etc
-
Reduction: A reduction of the total canopy volume. Best visualised as a 'hair cut'
-
Thin/crown clean: If your tree has a very dense canopy we can remove 25% of the branches evenly throughout the canopy. This won't alter the shape but will allow more light in and open the tree up.
-
Removal: Where we take the tree out altogether, see below for caveats. Using a variety of techniques we can safely remove trees in incredibly awkward positions.
The Arboricultural Association has a great page with graphics demonstrating these operations:.
We will only remove mature native trees if they're dangerous or diseased. Mature trees not only have great environmental and biodiversity value they also add value to your property. In most cases there is a solution to the problem a tree might pose. Whether that be through proper planning, pruning or landscaping, at Branches and Benches we would like to help you find this solution.
We also offer a tree planting service. We can help provide plans and guidance on what species would suit the the local area considering the built environment and surrounding ecology.
